You know your child best – if you see anything that does not seem normal for your child or if there is a sudden change, it is important for you to let us know:
- Call the nurse who is caring for your child so they can check on your child and let the physician know.
- If you still do not feel better about your child’s medical condition CALL 15433 from your room phone.
- The Rapid Response team will arrive to examine your child’s condition.

When you call, tell the operator what you are worried about using the sample below and that you are calling for the Rapid Response Team. Give your name and location or the patient’s room number. The operator will speak to you and may ask for more information.
When the RRT team arrives, repeat your concerns using the sample below:

The Rapid Response Team is available to all caregivers and patients to help you to be involved in your child’s healthcare needs. CHOC’s team is made up of an intensive care physician, nurse and respiratory therapist who respond to check your child’s current condition and care for immediate or emergency medical needs.
